Bilingual/TESL M.Ed. 과정은 College of Education and Professional Studies에 개설된 석사 프로그램으로 영어를 못하거나 충분한 실력이 없는 학생들에게 효과적인 영어학습을 진행할 수 있는 영어교사를 양성하기 위해 설계되었습니다. Bilingual/TESL M.Ed.는 영어를 가르치기 위한 영어의 전반적인 이해는 물론 언어의 습득과 발달을 위한 이론과 실험에 대해 배우게 됩니다. 또한 영어력 평가와 교재의 선정은 물론 Practicum을 통해 영어교육 이론을 현장에서 실습해 볼 수 있는 기회도 갖게 됩니다.

Bilingual/TESL M.Ed. 석사학위를 취득하기 위해서는 석사과정에서 총 34학점을 이수해야 하며, 학부에서 선수과목 12학점(교육학관련 6학점 + 영어관련 6학점)을 이수하지 못한 학생들은 추가로 수강해야 합니다. UCO와 학점교류가 체결된 숙명여대, 한양대, 성균관대, 부산외대에서 TESOL Certificate Program을 이수한 학생들은 12학점의 학부 선수과목을 면제 받을 수 있습니다.
* 국내 테솔 수료 시점과 UCO 테솔 졸업 시기를 모두 고려하여 국내 테솔의 학점 인정 여부는 달라지며 학점 인정의 최종 결정은 UCO Graduate Admission 에서 합니다.

지원 자격은 학사학위 이상 소지자로 최종 3, 4학년 평균성적(GPA)이 2.75/4.0이상이면 됩니다. 영어력은 iBT TOEFL 79 이상 또는 IELTS 6.5 이상을 요구합니다. 우수한 성적과 TOEFL/IELTS 성적을 갖춘 지원자는 UCO 장학금을 받을 수 있습니다.

 

주요 학습영역

  1. 효과적인 언어습득의 프로세스를 익히고 이를 효율적으로 적용하기 위한 다양한 방법론을 배웁니다.
  2. 학생들의 구술(Oral) 및 작문(Written) 능력을 향상시키기 위한 효율적 방법과 다양한 교육기법을 배웁니다.
  3. 커리큘럼을 작성하는데 있어서 반드시 고려해야 할 문화적 배경과 및 다양성 등을 배웁니다.
  4. 학교 교육과정의 관점에서 학부모와 지역사회의 효율적인 참여를 촉진시킬 수 있는 전략방법을 배웁니다.
  5. 영어력이 부족한 학생에 대한 파악과 언어적, 학문적 관점에서 학생들을 적절히 평가할 수 있는 방법을 배웁니다.
  6. 학생 개개인의 학습능력을 관찰하고 진단하여 특수한 환경의 학생들도 정상교육을 받을 수 있게 하는 방법(Mainstreaming Technic)을 배웁니다.
  7. 두 개 이상의 언어를 사용하게 되는 상황에서 진행할 수 있는 다양한 형태의 교육 진행 방법을 배웁니다.
